Kingdom Come
Local churches have to grapple with huge issues on a week by week basis. People in great need, huge changes in ideas in society, and the challenge around ways in which churches relate to different faith groups, the government and others. Alongside that there is the nagging feeling that we need to be more effective, to break out of the ‘old wineskin’ of just meeting on a Sunday and in a home group during the week. How do we understand that we are the ‘church’ when we are at work or at home just as much as when we ‘gather’.
Kingdom Come explores some of the challenges local churches face and ways in which we can meet those challenges. It’s packed full of practical ideas, good theology and great examples of churches and projects making a difference.

Building A Better World
The United Kingdom is a hotch-potch of ideas, religious convictions and opinions. In the middle of that huge diversity, the church has to think through how we relate to others and work with those who want to see communities changed and people helped. At the same time, churches have to think through how they remain distinctively committed to the person and work of Jesus Christ. In short, how do we remain clearly Christian whilst at the same time working alongside others who share our values, but not our faith.
Building a Better World challenges the ideas that the church should work in splendid isolation or that we should lose our distinctive and unique commitment to Christ. It sets out ways in which we can identify shared and common values with other groups and suggests ways that we can work with others whilst retaining our distinctiveness.

Micah's Challenge
I warmly welcome this book”, writes UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown in his foreword to Micah’s Challenge, “it is harnessing faith to unite Christians globally…to deepen...commitment to people living in poverty through prayer, service and advocacy.”
In this new book the prophetic word of Micah to “act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God” (6:8), is explored for its application to today’s church. Drawing together insights from Jim Wallis, Tony Campolo, Malcolm Duncan, René Padilla, Joel Edwards, Ron Sider, Njongonkulu Ndungane, and others, Micah’s Challenge explores the theological, ethical and practical dimensions of this call to act with justice, mercy and humility.
Micah Challenge represents one way in which the international Christian community has responded to this challenge by campaigning for the delivery of the Millennium Development Goals. It unites Christians from both hemispheres, urging our respective governments to grasp this historic opportunity to deliver on the promises they have made. We consider that a book, consisting of contributions by theologians and practitioners from various continents will be of interest to all.
